I joined the Internet Society in August 2018 and now serve as Regional Vice President for the Middle East.
Prior to that, I worked for the Government of Egypt where I was the under secretary for international relations at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. I'm a gifted professional with around 25 years of working experience in the field of Internet policy, research on political economy, international and regional affairs, international organizations relations (UN and EU), and ICT diplomacy. I'm a seasoned bilateral and multilateral negotiator and a specialist in the design and implementation of information and communications technology development projects and events. I hold a Masters in Economics from the American University of Cairo and used to serve on the board of Diplo Foundation.
I found passion in dogs a few years ago when I had my first. I now serve my community through different activities, including awareness sessions about how to raise a dog, how to train your dog at home, medical consultation with specialized vet, and fun activities, including fashion competitions for dogs. I have also always been passionate about art and colors, and discovered that soap could be a very artistic field. I established the MINU Soap brand for skin products that are all natural with no additional chemicals, with each soap inspired by something in nature.
I'm located in Cairo, Egypt.
