I've been at the Internet Society since 2009, where much of my work has focused on global Internet policy, promoting public policies that support and enable a globally connected Internet for everyone.
As Managing Director, I am responsible for the overall management of the Internet Society and ensuring that the Internet Society has a strong and effective voice for an open, globally connected, secure and trustworthy Internet. My aim is to position the Internet Society as a key thought leader and advocate for the open Internet worldwide.
Prior to joining the Internet Society, I served in the U.S. Government, first in the State Department and then in the White House. I helped shape U.S. negotiating positions on Internet issues in the United Nations, including at the UN World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the OECD and APEC. My U.S. focused work included government-wide coordination and implementation of policies related to Internet governance, cybersecurity, telecommunications policy, digital television transition, broadband deployment, and other information technology policies.
I was born and raised in beautiful northern California where I developed a lifelong love for the beach, the mountains, and just being in the outdoors. As an active mom of two small children, my best days are those spent outdoors with my family. Through my career at the State Department and the Internet Society, I discovered a love for travel and experiencing new cultures that I hope to pass along to my children.
