Does the hosting provider for your website offer IPv6 connectivity? If they do not – and are not going to provide IPv6 connectivity any time soon, you may want to consider what would be involved with moving to another hosting provider who does support IPv6. Several lists are available:
- If you are specifically looking for Virtual Private Server(VPS) providers, please visit our resource page dedicated to IPv6 VPS offerings.
- The list of World IPv6 Launch participants – while this list is for “network operators”, many of them also providing hosting services and all of them have committed to IPv6.
- SixXS list of IPv6-enabled hosting providers
Given the effort involved with moving to a new hosting provider, you probably want to start with speaking with your existing hosting provider.
If you are launching a new web presence, consider using a hosting provider from these lists as you will know from the beginning that your site will work with IPv6.
Do you know of additional lists of IPv6 hosting providers we should consider adding here? If so, please send them to us.
